How do I add salary effective dates and assign multiple managers to an employee in Tilt, including through SFTP?
Who this applies to
-
HR users who create or manage leaves in Tilt.
Prerequisites
- To send multiple managers through SFTP, the multi-manager field must be enabled for your SFTP file.
Steps (Add salary effective dates)
- Use the leave survey for every new and in-progress leave. You can also use one or more of the optional methods to provide salary effective dates automatically or in bulk.
- In the leave survey (required for new and in-progress leaves): If a salary does not have an effective date, Tilt prompts you to add one in the leave survey. Enter the effective date for every salary listed. Until you do, you cannot click Submit Leave.
- To fix one missing effective date: In the Current Salary section, click Manage Pay. The Pay History window opens. Find the salary marked Effective Date: Missing, click Edit, and enter the effective date. To add a new salary, click Add Salary.
- When every salary has an effective date, the error messages go away and you can click Submit Leave.
Steps (Assign multiple managers to an employee)
- In the leave survey: For any leave, you can select more than one manager for the employee.
- In your SFTP file: Once the multi-manager field is enabled, your employee profile import file has two new columns. They come after Manager Phone Number (column AB) and before Cohorts (column AC):
- Manager Emails
- Manager IDs - Enter all of an employee's managers in the same cell, separated by commas. Example: mgr1@company.com, mgr2@company.com.
- When you use the Manager Emails and Manager IDs columns, these columns become optional: Manager First Name, Manager Last Name, Manager Email, and Manager Phone Number.
What if it doesn't work
-
The Submit Leave button is grayed out and says this employee has at least one salary without an effective date. Make sure all salaries have an effective date before submitting. At least one of the employee's salaries has no effective date. Enter an effective date for every salary in the leave survey, then click Submit Leave.
-
The Current Salary section says Error: Some salaries do not have an effective date. Manage Pay to complete. and shows a red under Effective Date: Click Manage Pay. In Pay History, click Edit on each salary marked Missing and enter the effective date.
- Salary effective dates from the SFTP file are not showing up: Check that the field is named exactly Salary Effective Date and every date uses the yyyy-mm-dd format.
- Only one manager imports through SFTP: Check that all managers are in a single Manager Emails or Manager IDs cell, separated by commas, and that the multi-manager field is enabled for your file.
- The Manager Emails and Manager IDs columns are not in your file: These columns appear only when the multi-manager field is enabled.
