How do I manually import data files in Tilt?

Five upload types, one page — import data manually and check the status of any file, including SFTP feeds.

Overview

The Uploads page under Org Settings is where HR users manually import data files and check the status of files uploaded manually or through SFTP. Tilt accepts five upload types: employee profile data, pay history data, cohort creations, bulk add salary effective dates, and Other. The Other type stores a document in Tilt without updating any platform data.

Who this applies to / Prerequisites
  • You must be an HR user to manage all Org Settings.
  • Your company must have completed (or be actively in) Tilt implementation.

Uploads

The Uploads page provides information about your company's Data Imports. HR users can manually import data files and see the status of any files uploaded manually or through SFTP. HR users can also upload cohorts or do a bulk upload of salary effective dates.

When manually importing data, Tilt accepts 5 types:

  • Employee profile data
  • Pay history data
  • Cohort data
  • Salary Effective Dates data
  • Other — this upload type does not update platform data but can be used to store a document in Tilt

Click the three dots next to an upload row to access the error log and the raw file for that upload.

Steps
  1. Click Org Settings, then Uploads.
  2. Choose your upload type: Employee profile data, Pay history data, Cohort creations, Bulk salary effective dates, or Other.
  3. To view an upload's error log and raw file, click the three dots next to that upload row.

What if it doesn't work
  • My upload shows an error: Click the three dots next to the upload row to open the error log and raw file for that upload.
  • If none of these apply, contact your Customer Success Manager or use the Contact Us option in your Tilt dashboard.
Limits and exceptions
  • Tilt accepts only five manual upload types: employee profile data, pay history data, cohort creations, bulk salary effective dates, and Other.
  • The Other upload type does not update platform data — it only stores a document in Tilt.
